There have been some emotional thunderclouds around here lately, but I will not bore you with the details.
Yet.
No, today I am going to share a few simple pleasures that have been brightening my days when clouds loom.
1. Chobani Champions Greek Yogurt
These little cups are meant for kids, but I buy them for myself. There's something really satisfying about the creaminess and lack of sugary sweetness I find in most other yogurts. They are packed with protein and not weird additives, and I LOVE THEM.
2. The ubiquitous
Old Spice Man. The Twitter/Facebook social media advertising stunt the company has pulled this week continues to crack me up. I must say I've really enjoyed whiling away 15 minutes here and there watching a couple of them in a row. (OK, more like 2 hours straight and 47 of 'em, but who's counting?) How can I be worried about the various hard things in my life when I have the phrase "I'm on a horse" stuck in my head?
3. BlogHer10 is approaching! Yay! The one time all year that it is all about ME! I've got the usual "I'm such a dork and totally uncool and have no one to hang out with and I'll just end up hiding in my ROOM" butterflies, but I know after the last two years how ridiculous that is. There will be friendly new faces and people I met in years past and I will have a total blast. Happy dance!
And that is all I have time to meander on about today. The children and I are off to the pet store for medicine for poor fishy #2, who appears to have developed a fungal infection. Gah. Then we will do more errands, pick up our CSA farm share and come home, and later I will haul them to a friend's beach club where she and I will sit inside and drink girly drinks and the kids will romp on the beach in the sunset while a teenager she is paying watches them for us so we don't have to worry about them drowning and can concentrate on cackling hysterically. Priorities, people.
